Picnic at the park

We got together with some family and had a picnic at the park.

The kids had a great time playing!

Alyssa was a great help with Addie. She walked all over the park with her! It was nice to just sit down for a bit!

More football...

We went to Nick's football game the other day. Here are some photos of that game...Drew didn't want any photos taken...but I managed to get some anyway!

Jack has watched his older brothers play football for 7 years. He FINALLY got to play his first game Saturday! He was beyond thrilled!! He had a great time, and had a good game! ...and best of all, they won!!!

Why no new posts?

Ummm... forgetfulness!!

#1 Went to a football scrimmage - forgot the camara.
#2 Went to a football game - forgot the camara
#3 Went to the zoo - forgot the camara
#4 Went to the park for a cookout - forgot the camara
#5 Went to the park just to play - forgot the camara

As you can see, we've been out and about, I just keep forgetting the blasted camara. I'll get it this weekend whne we go to Jack's football game!!! I promise!

Addie's new "thing"

Whenever I open the fridg, Addie sits on the little ledge in front of the fruit drawer. She then proceeds to get the mustard and bite the lid. Very odd, but really funny. :)

To vote pro-life, or not.

I may be in the minority here, but this primary election left a seriously bad taste in mouth. I really struggled with the issue of who to vote for and the only candidate I was really impressed with, based on his voting record, interviews and what I read in the paper, was not pro-life. It was the very first time in my life I entertained the idea of voting for this man in spite of his abortion stance. Before you all freak, please know, that thought only lasted a millisecond, and I had to dismiss it. But I was quite irritated that the only person I supported was someone I could not morally vote for. Maybe I'm the only one who has ever had this dilemma, I suppose it's not popular in the "evangelical" world to admit such a slip in mental clarity, but alas, I admit it.

So with this festering in my mind, I came across this timely interview with Mark Driscoll and Randy Alcron that really addressed my dilemma and gave voice to why I could not vote for this man. It is an articulate and true perspective on why voting for those who value the life of unborn infants is so important. It is highly unfortunate that this issue has become divided across party lines as I do believe there are plenty of thinking, intelligent individuals with various party affiliations that have strong convictions on this issue and unfortunately the parties have staked their claim on one position and forced their candidates to be molded into a stereotypical, cookie-cutter ideology that looks good on a billboard and will garner the most special-interest money (or votes…whatever is most needed at the time) But I have digresses…here is the interview. (Aren't you glad I don't often talk about politics?)

We Got Mail!!!

Yesterday, I found a large package in my mailbox from Holt. Inside it, I discovered some WONDERFUL gifts & a letter from Addison's Foster Mother. I was so moved by her generosity and obvious love for Addie. SHe truly is a great woman. I'm so thankful Addison was in her care! God's hand was, and is on our daughter. (and us!) Ths basketball socks in the photo above are being wonr by Drew. He loves them!

And Nick claimed these Puma socks as his own. The boys all love the socks. They say their "Korean" socks are "nice and tight, light and far more comfortable than the ones I buy at Wal Mart." Hummm.... Am I now to special order their socks...(No way!)

A Weekend Away!

We took a long weekend and went to visit some family! We really enjoyed our time there. It was a much needed break!
