Summer Vacation - Port Aransas Beach

We decided our family needed to go to the beach, so we drove down south to Port Aransas, Texas so we could spend a day lounging on the beach and playing in the ocean. We REALLY enjoyed our day!  It was my personal favorite!

The beach at Port Aransas was so pretty and the water was incredibly warm.  It was probably the warmest ocean water I've ever felt!

Much to my surprise, the girls were not afraid at all!  They loved the warm water and the waves!

The girls LOVED playing in the sand.   We tried to build a sand castle which actually became a family endeavor as the day wore on..

the girls and I walked up and down the beach collecting shells.  Here are all of them.  They used them to decorate their sand castle, but later I washed them off and we took them all home.  

The beach was neat because they allowed you to drive your car onto the sand which made it very convenient to access the cooler and other things we brought.

The entire family ended up helping build an elaborate castle with mote and small lake.  Thanks boys!!!

Summer Vacation - Corpus Christi

On another day of our vacation, we decided to visit Corpus Christi.  While there, we visited the USS Lexington.  This is aircraft carrier which had been active during WWII.  It was very interesting to see the planes and the ship. Here are some photos from our visit.

I was really trying to get a good photo of my boys, but this is the best I could manage.  Photo ops always turn into wrestling matches with those boys!!!

The stairs were VERY steep and narrow.  We had the girls go up & down them on our backs becasue they were too much for them to do alone.
